The Story of a True American Hero
SHIPS NOVEMBER 20TH!
Augustus Tolton’s enslaved mother knows there’s only one way to save her family – she has to escape the slave-state of Missouri. Slipping away in the dead of night, with three children in tow, she rows a leaky rowboat across the vast Mississippi River to freedom in Illinois. Her son Augustus faces shameful prejudice from the Catholic Church in America, yet he overcomes all obstacles to become America’s first Black priest.
Directed by Leonardo Defilippis (Thérèse, 2004), TOLTON stars Jim Coleman (My Brother and Me, Ace Ventura) and is the filmed version of the acclaimed live multimedia show that has inspired audiences in more than 400 performances.
